WESTREF enviro grew out of the experiences and challenges of WESTREF, a family owned business and supplier to the fire assay industry.

As a long-term supplier to the mining industry, we identified a lack of initiative in how the existing waste management industry deals with waste from the fire assay process.

Out of this realization, WESTREF enviro was born.

By tailoring specialised waste solutions and working smarter to introduce new technologies in a transparent and sustainable manner, we want the right choice for the environment to be an easy one to make.

Jimmy McGregor

Managing Director

Jimmy is the founder and Managing Director of WESTREF enviro Pty Ltd. Working in the geological laboratory industry for several years, as the Managing Director of Westref Pty Ltd, highlighted the need for quality, ethical and sustainable solutions to hazardous waste streams. Jimmy is passionate about helping the environment now and assisting his customers with their problems in a transparent manner. In fact, Jimmy’s interest in waste management goes all the way back to his childhood. At 5 years of age the ‘Stark Bay Rubbish Run’ was born and if you ask nicely, he’ll even show you a photo from back then!

Sam Chami

Business Development Manager

Is an Experienced Technical Manager with over 14 years of history within the Industrial, Technical and Environmental sectors. He has a passion for making a difference to this world and the environment we live in. A solid technical background along with a strong focus on Health lead him to join the Westref Enviro Family. Sam has extensive experience, comprehensive knowledge and understanding of waste management, emergency response management, contaminated site remediation, commercial hazardous waste management, treatment and clean-up practices and procedures.
